Object : USB to Computer

I have been trying unsuccessfully for almost a year to get a sound out of my computer using the USB output from both the G7.1ut and the G2.1u. In Vista I can see that sound is being received because the meter is moving but Vista has disabled the ability to add devices into the mixer. So even if it does work you cannot play along with CDs, mp2s, or videos so ultimately it's useless because you can only choose Zoom-in to Zoom-out.

I downgraded to WindowsXP because you can still choose input and output devices in the mixer. This is exactly what I would like to do. It would be nice to be able to just plug into my computer to practice, learn new songs, play scales, or even play along with TV show sound tracks. I believe that's why they included the USB jack in the first place. The problem is I have NEVER been able to get a sound. According to the manual it's so easy you just plug in and it works, and from what I've read in other forums it has worked this way for other people. I haven't been so fortunate.

What I would like to see is an additional topic in the Forum where Zoom users can share their experiences with the USB to computer scenario. Who knows maybe one day I will be able to make this pig fly. I think because of the convenience I would probably play my guitar a lot more, even if it's just in the background doing repetitious scales and patterns. It was one of the reasons why I bought the Zoom in the first place but I had no idea it would be such a head ache trying to get it to work. Even Zoom support won't answer my emails.

Object : Took another Crack at it!

Since no-one has responded to my request I decided to take another crack at getting my G7.1ut to work on my computer through the USB port.

Well...I spent about 10 hours trying everything possible. I re-read the manual, went to the Zoom site to see if they had anything to offer, went through all the sound settings in WinXp looking for anything I might have missed. Un-installed - Re-installed drivers, you name it; I tried it.

You Guess'd it...NO SOUND!!!

Someone please HELP!!! I can't believe it could possibly be this difficult to make this F**kin' thing WORK. Surely Zoom didn't put the USB port on the pedal just for looks!

ANY IDEAs would be greatly appreciated.

I have G9.2tt the beginning and I had the same problem with your USB interface specification and the PC had no sound.
Eventually I realized that the connector of the USB cable that goes to ZOOM, can easily be placed shot.
Just be careful to put it in the right direction (there is some round and I have solved my something goes wrong.

did you tried pressing system button, then after with one knob (ussualy type) scrolling up to USB-PC and change value to USB+Monitor this allow you to keep sound + data thru USB connection. if the value is monitor your not allowed to record the wave data, in the other hand if your G7 is on USB thus your aren't able to listen but record wave data...
