Object : G7.1ut midi connection and set-up

I have a €30 midi cable named MIDIMATE II that senses witch of the two cable connectors is in MIDI-in and witch is in MIDI-out automatically. I also sometimes do get the Timeout massage but I always get it to work proper.

These are my settings:
Set-up menu G7.1ut
Item
4/26 MIDI Rx Ch=1
5/26 MIDI Tx Ch=1
6/26 MIDI PCMODE Direct
8/26 MIDI PC Rx=on
9/26 MIDI PC Rt=on
10/26 MIDI CTRL Rx = on
11/26 MIDI CTRL Rt = on
12/26 MIDI cc# CTRL IN = 1

For receiving all patches from the G7ED program to the G7.1ut select
. 26/26 MIDI BulkDumpRx ExctePress[PAGA]
to set the G7 in receiving mode and press the PAGE button

MIDI set-up on the G7ED program:
My display shows:
Menu MIDI
MIDI IN...........TTS Virtual piano in
............V.....MIDIMATE II
..................MIDIIN2 (MIDIMATE II)

.MIDI OUT........Microsoft GS Wavetable synth
.................MIDIMATE II
............V....MIDIOUT2 (MIDIMATE II)

Then I press the ‘On Line’ button. The first thing I do next is opening the LIB and select a patch and see if the G7 was switched to the new patch (PS: only the green patchdisplay changes, not the red patchnumber)

When no success, I go OFF LINE and make the following midisetup change,

MIDI IN..........TTS Virtual piano in
.................MIDIMATE II
.............V...MIDIIN2 (MIDIMATE II)

.MIDI OUT........Microsoft GS Wavetable synth
.............V...MIDIMATE II
.................MIDIOUT2 (MIDIMATE II)

This works for me and I hope it works for you as well.
Have FUN!

I just having exact same problem. I just blaming people that sold to me such brandless midi interface, for sure G9.2tt must have a special midi in/out wiring configuration... I will make few testings on conectors and let you know the result..

I had the same problem "Device Inquiry timeouted" and I couldn't get "on line" with the effect, the problem is with the cable Midi, it appears as "Usb Audio Device",the cable doesn't come with his own driver, So I bought The Cable Midi: "M-AUDIO Uno" that came with a Cd and his driver to intall, the same one that Giasso bought, and there are no problems with that.

Good luck

all you have to do its plug in the MIDI cable like this:
MIDI "out" to unit "in"
MIDI "in" to unit "out"
i did this and its solved my problem and now my G9 work great!!

(in the G9ED choose in midi options all the midi inputs and outputs)

I can not continue.
I bought a midi cable just for this site and I can not use it.
I tried all ways but nothing.
Even with the cable out the hole and vice versa.
What are the settings to be done on the pedal?
In midi tx and rx ch = 1 in both of that.
I do not understand if is the computer does not recognize it or just the program.
